May 6th the Market was in full swing as Limelight chefs ran over to purchase fresh pea shoots from Tiny Greens to feed vegetarian and foodie Stella McCartney at Barney’s Trunk Show Preview Luncheon with Simon Doonan.
Defense of Food
Michael Pollan author Omnivores Dilemma and now In Defense of Food, spoke eloquently on the topic of how we eat and what we should be eating last night at The Harold Washington Library lecture hall. To highlight the
evening further rancher, environmentalist, television producer and fellow author Bill Kurtis interviewed Mr. Pollan on the local sustainable movement. Limelight served local sustainable bites with area chefs Bruce Sherman, Sarah Stegner, Gale Gand and Kevin Hickey

Spring Wedding
Dettagli Weddings and Limelight partnered to create an elegant spring wedding at Café Brauer. The room sparkled with an overabundance of votives dancing off of Anthony Gowder’s delightful spring florals. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, dinner and the sounds of The Dennis Keith Band while dancing into the night.
Women in Business
Limelight was honored to be a part of University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business’s “Women in Business” Annual Spring Dinner. New admits, current students, faculty and alumni enjoyed the inspiring keynote speaker, Ellen Carnahan who discussed the importance of women’s role in today’s work force. The evening concluded with Champagne and Raspberries, Mini Angel Food Cakes and Petite Creme Brulee.
