The Marwen Foundation highlights the talents of it’s students on a regular basis so it was no surprise that these same talented students took center stage for their May 30 th Paintbrush Ball . Marwen tapped board member Carlos Martinez to create this years gala design with the help of his architecture and design firm Gensler.. Urban, funky, hip, edgy, fun all describe the event, the decor and Marwen’s vibe.

Chicago in Hi-Depp

....to steal a headline from the Trib, Chicago and Limelight were in Hi-Depp mode for the whirlwind three day media junket surrounding the July 1st opening of Universal Pictures action thriller Public Enemies starring Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard. With so much of it shot in Chicago you are sure to recognize Union Station, The Biograph Theater, Chicago River and more. Legend has it that the ghost of John Dillinger is living and has been sighted in the alley next to the Biograph at Lincoln and Fullerton

Christmas in June

In addition to Public Enemies, the public relations firm Allied also had us lend a hand with the media viewing for Disney’s A Christmas Carol starring Jim Carrey. Limelight provided holiday treats of eggnog, gingerbread houses and decorated cookies for the Christmas in June theme.

The USTA Pro Tennis Championship this week June 29-July 5 at the Nielsen Tennis Center in Winnetka. is in full swing. It is a beautiful setting for these exciting games and Limelight is working with Championship Co-ordinator Linda Goodman on the daily VIP dinners and events

Visualize Whirled Peas

A trip to NYC was made complete with a quick train ride to Tarrytown for dinner at Dan Barber’s Blue Hill Farm at Stone Barn. The still-Spring farm offerings were plentiful with peas in abundance. Chilled Camomile mint tea, tiny English pea “burger”, garden green gazpacho, roasted Sea scallops with peas, grass-fed lamb with faro and peas, not to mention local radish, baby zucchini, strawberries, blueberries, asparagus, farm eggs, tomato, cherries and a rhubarb martinis!
